Jim Connor local sculptor and the Southern Indiana Veterans created the piece titled "Soaring." The Organization Elder Heart now operating under the name Mission 22 supports Veterans through creating community arts project to raise awareness for the 22 Veteran suicides that occur daily. The inscription on the dedication plaque reads: "As a rising tide lifts all boats, so a sudden wind fills the sails. These soaring fall leaves, driven skyward by a sudden wind, are not only an iconic symbol of Brown County but represent Arts Village Brown County and Elder Heart rising together, bonded by the community, to reach for their dreams." Brown County Art Gallery - Nashville, In. Established in 1926 by the Brown County Art Colony artists Dale Bessire, Carl Graf, Mari Goth, Ada Walter Shulz, Will Vawter, L.O. Griffith, Adolph Shulz, V.J Cariani and Indianapolis businessman William Wilkes. The group established the Gallery and artist association in an old grocery store purchased and renovated by Wilkes to display their works of art.  Today the gallery displays the works of art from the members of the Brown County Art Association, houses a permanent collection of early Indiana art, gallery space for the Indiana Heritage Arts and a permanent gallery for Glenn Cooper Henshaw. Brown County Art Guild - Nashville, In. The Brown Art Guild was formed by notable artists, Claude Curry Bohm, Marie Goth, V. J. Cariani, Carl Graf, Genevieve Goth Graf, George LaChance and others in 1954. The group purchased the historic Minor House to serve as a gallery, and in 1975 the gallery was fully renovated with funds left by Marie Goth in her estate. Today the gallery exhibits works of over 50 contemporary artists along with the permanent memorial gallery space for Marie, V.J., Carl, and Genevieve.
