Brown County Art Gallery
Collector Showcase 2013
Treasure Hunt 2.0 was the theme for the 2013 Collector Showcase organized by The Brown County Art Gallery Foundation. Treasure Hunt was a follow-up to last year’s successful showcase focusing on paintings found by collectors with a story.  In addition to the approximately 70 wonderful works of art on loan by the owners for public viewing, there were also two special exhibits. One was an original work of art from the nationally-known bird and wildlife artist William Zimmerman (10-01-1937 to 11-19-2011) on loan from his family. The second special exhibit included works of art from woodblock artist Gustave Baumann who was known as an exceptional woodblock artist and is a favorite of many collectors of Indiana art. Both Bill Zimmerman and Gustave Baumann will have a permanent gallery in the future expansion of the Brown County Art Gallery. Proceeds from the show went to the capital fund drive in support of the Brown County Art Gallery expansion.

The 2013 Collectors Showcase opened at 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 12th, with a reservation-only reception for 55.00 per person. Admission included wine, food, and music along with raffles. On Sunday, October 13th, the doors opened to the general public from noon to 5:00 pm for an 8.50 admission fee.  Admission to the event included a very lovely full-color catalog with pictures of the artwork work on display at the show
