Biography of Fred Rigley
- Fred Rigley Indiana artist studied at the Ringling School of Art, Hilton Leach School of Art in Sarasota, FL
- Studied under Emile A. Gruppe, John F. Carlson, and Floyd Hopper
- First discovered Brown county as a student by driving Alberta Shultz's car back to Nashville from Florida.
- Moved to Brown County in 1948 from Gloucester, MA
- Opened Rigley Studios and an art supply and framing store
- Taught Landscape painting with the Indianapolis Art League for 25 years
- Painted plein air and was known for his landscape paintings
