Awards: First prize 1903 Cincinnati Art Club, Mary T.R Foulke Prize, Richmond Art Association 1912, Painters &  Sculptors of Los Angeles 1926


Studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under Frank Duveneck
Highly regarded as an artist with talent equivalent to John Elwood Bundy.
Moved to Redondo Beach CA in 1910, but continued to remain active in Richmond shows
Many California residents called him the Beech Tree painter
